Mario RPG Fans Work For A Remake

Anyone who has ever played "Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door" or "Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga" know that the Mario RPG games can be fun, and sometimes even funny. But, due to it's release date (just as the Nintendo 64 was to be released), not everyone remembers "Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars" for the SNES. This was the game that started the Mario RPG series. It was an excellent game, with great music, graphics, and game play. On IGN.com, over 3700 readers who wrote a review gave it an average score of 9.4/10, on Gamespot, readers gave it a 9.5/10 rating. This is truly a great game.

Unfortunately, despite the fact that Nintendo seems to want to remake every classic Mario game for GBA and DS (Super Mario Advance 1, 2, 3, and 4 anyone? Super Mario 64 DS?), they haven't thought about remaking Super Mario RPG. Now, some people may have realized that Square-Enix and Nintendo have remade Final Fantasy IV for GBA, so that means they are working together again.

The people at Super Mario RPG Legacy (http://smrpglegacy.com/) have been working to try and get Square and Nintendo to remake this game. Secrets of the Seven Stars (http://sotss.classicgaming.gamespy.com) started a petition to remake SMRPG for GBA/DS, which is still promoted by smrpglegacy.com. The forum members are currently working to try and persuade Square and Nintendo to remake this game, and any support can help, either by sending the Webmaster of SMRPGL an e-mail with a letter to send to Square-Enix or signing the remake petition, which currently has over 20,000 signatures.

There are many fans of this game that would love to see this game remade, but without support of all the fans together, it won't happen. Plus, the support of those who have never played the game, but would really like to, can help too.

For those who believe that Nintendo and Square would not listen to the fans, then you need to take a look at Starmen.net (http://starmen.net). They got a remake, so with support; SMRPGL can get their remake too.
