Touching is allowed, but not MANDATORY!

Unless you have been living under a rock since November 21st, you know all about the DS. Who could ignore a handheld with a touch screen, in addition to another screen, and voice control? Now, I read a lot of reviews, online and in magazines. Most reviewers, including Electronic Gaming Monthly, Game Pro, GameSpot.com, love these features. But do they love them so much they get mad when a feature isn't included in a game? Some reviews will have comments like "great use of touch screen", but then it will mention how the game didn't make much use of the dual screens. So what? Since when is it mandatory for a game to make use of all the platforms features? Every X-Box game isn't online (it is close though) and not all Game Cube games use the bongos. It is hard enough for any developer (yes, even the beloved Nintendo) just to create new games. Developers are just warming up to the fact that a handheld has a touch screen or voice control capabilities. These things have never been done. Why can't people welcome new games like Feel the Magic and Polarium? Maybe the reviewers were just really excited to get their hands on the DS (get it?). but why should a game be docked points because it doesn't utilize all of a systems capabilities. Final Fantasy X-2 got good reviews and it didn't use the Eye Toy. (wouldn't that have been weird?).
