Tetris is back on a Nintendo Handheld with Tetris DS. This game
adds alot to the classic puzzle game that started it all.
First off, you will see some amazing Super Mario, Metroid Zelda,
and more Graphics in the game. Now lets get to the various modes.
Touch Mode: Use the stylus to move Tetriminos into place, to
create rows.
Push Mode: A Tetris Tug-of-War. This is a two player game, against
a computer, a local DS Friend, or someone across the world.
Try and make lines to push your opponent off the screen. Make two
or more lines and bring your opponent closer to a doomed red line.
Catch Mode: Tetris Pieces will fall, and you will control a block
to catch them. You need to make these Tetris Pieces form a square,
if you don't, they will build up, and build up. Did I mention
their are Metroids in this game? And if you don't make these
squares, these pieces will build up and hit Metroids, which will
lose you energy.
Puzzle Mode: A Puzzle type game inspired by Yoshi's Cookie. The
top screen will show abunch of Tetris Pieces, with several gaps.
The bottom will have different types of Tetris Pieces (Tetriminos)
to choose from. You must choose the right one, and rotate it and
put in the right place to win. There are 200 of these puzzles.
Mission Mode: You can play this mode by yourself, or with a
friend.
You are given several Missions you have to defeat in a set time.
Such as clear a certain amount of lines with one Tetrimino, or
clear a certain amount of lines with a certain Tetrimino.
Standard Mode: They gotta have this mode. This is the mode to play
classic Tetris, and see various Nintendo inspired Backgrounds,
such as Super Mario, Ice Climbers, Excitebike, and many more!
You can play this by yourself, up to 4 people on NintendoWifi, and
up to 10 people in the DSes range.
Tetris DS packs so much Tetris fun into one game pack, probably
the most advanced Tetris game on a system, and most definitely on
a handheld. |
