It's PIKMIN! Yep it's Pikmin for the Nintendo Gamecube.
A game made by Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of such hits as
Mario! and Zelda! and Donkey Kong!
By saying those famous names which have been around us for years,
I don't really have to say people had high hopes for this game.
In Pikmin you control tons and tons of these creatures called
Pikmin. You are Captain Olimar and have crash landed on a planet.
There is Good News and Bad News, the bad news is you are going to
die in a month unless you fix your ship, the good news is there
are these Pikmin creatures you find, and they seem to follow your
every command, you say move they move, you say stand still, they
stand still, you say fight 'till the death, they fight 'till the
death. There are many different areas you will have to explore.
There will be parts of your ship somewhere in these areas, you
will have to find a way to get to it, and then safely get your
Pikmin to bring it back to your ship.
Along the way there will be a variety of obstacles and enemies to
get around or defeat.
There are different coloured Pikmin, and each has a special
ability, like being able to enter water without drowning to death.
You will lose Pikmin along the way, to getting eaten by enemies!!!
But you will be able to create new Pikmin by. . . .by. . .
.feeding the dead body of these enemies to create more Pikmin.
There are other things you can feed to get more Pikmin as well.
Don't worry, it is handled in the best possible way. . .the
enemies aren't dripping blood or anything.
But you will have to use your mind to figure out how to get all
your ships parts back, as well as some reflexes to not lose as
many Pikmin as possible.
Many people loved Pikmin and it spawned a sequel. But it wasn't
incredibly well received by the public. They just didn't really
like it, they expected something else from Shigeru Miyamoto. They
wanted another Mario or Link.
But he went in a different direction, he tried something new, and
I thing it worked. |
