The game that started it all, the game that started dozens of
knock-offs. This is the original Mario Party, and still thought of
as one of the best, with classic Mini-Games and Boards, Mario
Party became a hit.
In Mario Party you select from Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, DK, Peach, and
Wario.
You can then select a board to play on. Each board has its own
theme and design. There are spaces on the board which you will
takes turns hitting a dice block and moving on these spaces. There
are boards that let you take different routes along the board,
that the player can decide upon.
There are different spaces to land on as well, there are blue
spaces, the most common which will give you coins, red spaces
which will take away coins, ! spaces which will do something
special, Bowser Spaces which are dreaded, and more. On each board
there will be a star, everyone is racing to get this star.
At the end of all the turns, whoever has the most stars wins the
game.
You can also set the length of the game, set the amount of turns,
so you can have a short or long game.
To get a star you will need coins to buy it, that is where
collecting coins on the board comes along, and the mini-games.
After everyone has had a turn, a mini-game will randomly selected.
It could be a 4vs4 mini-game, a 1vs3, or a 2vs2. This is decided
by what colour spaces the players landed on that turn. You then
get a description of the mini-game and what to do, the controls,
and then your off to play the mini-game. Whoever wins that
mini-game, will be rewarded with coins. This is where the true fun
of the game comes in. There are tons of different mini-games to be
played.
At the end of all turns bonuses will also be awarded, bonuses for
who won the most mini-games, who collected the most coins, and who
landed on the ! spaces the most.
There are other modes besides that mode, you can also just select
specifically what mini-game you want to play, or go on a 1 player
mission mode, playing all the mini-games.
The main mode can be played with up to 4 players, some can be
computers, or all could be humans. It is widely said that the most
fun is to be had with 4 humans.
If you want a fun exciting 4 player N64 game, that has endless
replayability, then check out Mario Party. |
