Dr. Mario is a classic puzzle game that many people say is second
to Tetris!
Well, besides being a plumber, Mario is also a doctor, working at
the Mushroom Kingdom Hospital, it is up to him to get rid of all
the viruses.
Dr. Mario is an easy to learn, one screen puzzle game. The middle
of the screen, (which is in the design of a bottle) contains three
kinds of viruses. They are all the same; just 3 different colours.
Dr. Mario stands on the top right corner and throws pills into the
bottle. Each pill has two sides. Each side has a different colour,
some have the same colour on both sides. You can rotate the pill
completely around.
The simple goal in the game is to get rid of all the viruses in
the bottle. You do this by making a horizontal or vertical line
touching a virus. This line must be the same colour as the virus.
You get to set the level of challenge at the start of each game.
You set the amount of viruses on screen, as well as the speed of
the pills falling down.
There is also a two player mode in which you and another player
vs. to see who can get rid of their viruses first. You even get to
select each players skill level.
Dr. Mario is a classic puzzle game. It is easy to learn and very
addictive and replayable. It has been re-released on many Nintendo
systems to date.
