   Description/Information:

The game that started the whole Metroid series, as well showed what a platformer could do when put to the max.

You play as Samus Aran, an intergalactic bounty hunter, you land on the planet Zebes, which is infected with an unknown species called Metroids, which can absorb life energy and multiply fast!

In Metroid you get to explore a vast environment. Unlike other platformers where you are going left to right, or up the whole game, you get to do both in Metroid.
You will encounter many different types of enemies, some can fly, and other can even cling to the roof.
Samus is equipped with a power beam that can be shot at enemies. This beam can be upgraded to be more powerful. You will also be able to turn into the morph-ball. So Samus will become a small ball the can move around.
Metroid is an amazing platformer. You get to explore, upgrade your weapons, defeat many different enemies, and think about what to do.

If you are looking for a type of platformer game for the NES you have never played, then get Metroid. It's groundbreaking-amazing gameplay set the world in an uproar.
