   Description/Information:

The game that started off the Super Nintendo, and made gamers craving it under its code name Super Mario Bros. 4.

Super Mario World continues on with the great Mario series. There is a map, like in SMB3, where you move Mario and Luigi to levels. Unlike in SMB3, where there are 8 worlds, and a map for each world, Super Mario World's map is one gigantic world, with different areas.

Each level Mario will have to get across safely. There are many, many new enemies. Mario can run, jump, fly, and shoot fireballs, like in SMB3. However many suits are gone, frog, hammerbro, tanooki.

Every level is so much larger than in previous Mario games. And many more levels in total. Including Ghost Levels, Big Boss levels with Bowser's Kids, water levels, and many other types of under and above ground levels.

One of the most famous additions to this game is Yoshi! Mario meets Yoshi here, and actually saves him and his family. Mario also gets to ride on Yoshi. While on Yoshi Mario can jump on spiky enemies, and use Yoshi's tongue to eat enemies.

There are 4 colours of Yoshi's. Green, Blue, Yellow, and Red. Each have a unique ability when they eat a Koopa. Such as blowing fire and flying!

Super Mario World is a very huge enhancement over previous instalments. Huge levels, many new enemies, secrets in levels, and more!

I remember watching NBC news when the Super nes came out, they were showing Super Mario World, and it was a little different than we are used to. In the castle stages where you would swing around those gates on the fence, the whole screen would spin, instead of the gate, so you would still be facing away from the player.  There was something different about the heart when the princess kisses Mario at the end of the game, but I can't recall what was different about it. I also have a scan from Nintendo Power showing a very different map screen; can anyone help me locate this version of the game?

Matt has also submitted a picture to go along with this. Click Here to see it.
