Game Name: Animal Crossing Wild World
System: Nintendo DS
Genre: Animal Crossing/Simulation
Developer/Publisher: Nintendo
Release Dates:
Japan: November 23rd, 2005
United States: December 5th, 2005
Canada: December 7th, 2005
Australia: December 8th, 2005
United Kingdom: March 31st, 2006
Players: 1-4

Introduction:

The long anticipated  sequel to the Gamecube hit is finally here. ACWW delivers the overall feel and playability of the original AC. But can it live up to its predecessor?

Story:

You just moved into a new town in a cab, you have no money, no tools, and no companions to help you out. Old Tom Nook returns, and basically plays the same role as he did in the AC for Gamecube: he gets you started, and provides you with quality tools, furniture, and various other items (for a price). Well, Nook sells you a house, but there's a little problem. NO MONEY!!! Lucky for you Nook offers you a part time job at his shop, but he lays you off after you do a few chores. Wipe that grin off your face. Nook didn't forget that you still owe him money, and he's gonna make you pay off every last bell (currency in ACWW)! Good thing you don't have to do it alone. Up to four people can live in one house, each contributing bells to paying off your mortgage. But that won't be the only thing they contribute; Each
player can bring their own styles and fashion into your home, as well as take yours out. Combine and Conquer!

Gameplay:

The surprisingly addictive gameplay that was present in the first AC is alive and well in Wild World. You can make friends with the townsfolk (who are animals for all those new to AC), sell unwanted stuff at Nook's, plant trees, pull weeds, go fishing, catch bugs, and much more. The controls are smooth and the use of the stylus to move your character, pick up items, ect. is probably one of the best uses fro the DS's touch screen. The DS's dual screens are put to use as the bottom displays the player and the environment, while the top displays the sky, bringing to life marvelous constellations that you can create at night. Being able to expand your house even larger than in the  first AC is a great improvement. More
rooms=more furniture=more happiness! Tons of new items not available in the original are at your disposal in Wild World, including new furniture, music, wallpaper, flooring, and those lovable gyroids! Where ACWW is really lacking is in the wi-fi feature. You can only visit someone else's town if you have their friend code and they have yours, pretty tough if you don't know anyone who has the game.

I give the gameplay: 9/10

Graphics:

Wild World showcases graphics meant to look like that of its predecessor. While furniture and many other things that could be put in your house showed beautiful detail, the graphics outside the house could have been a little better.

I give the graphics: 9/10

Sound:

Hate to say it, but the music in Wild World didn't impress me. Sure, it's great to make your own town tune and to grab bootlegs of K. K. Slider's greatest hits and play them in your house, but the music being played while you are roaming around town is quite dull.

I give the sound: 7/10

Replayability:

Unless you've got friends on wi-fi, you probably won't be playing this too much after you've paid off all your debts unless you want a certain piece of furniture or something.

I give the replayability: 6/10

Challenge:

No challenge whatsoever, but that's what AC is about; making a living, even if it's easy. Paying off loans might take a while, but there's no time limit.

I give the challenge: 3/10

Frustration:

The only time when you'll be frustrated is when Resseti yells out you for turning off the power without saving.

I give the frustration: 1/10

Value:

Wild World has value beyond compare. Worth every single penny you pay for it. You're gonna be busy with this for a long time.

I give the value: 10/10

Overall:

A worthy sequel overall, but many fans to the series will be disappointed with its wi-fi compatibility.

I give Animal Crossing Wild World: 8.5/10

Conclusion:

Animal Crossing: Wild World is a definite must buy for the DS. This is the kind of game that can make people who have never played a video-game before get hooked on them. If you don't have this game, it should definitely be your next buy for the DS.
