Game Name: Need For Speed Most Wanted
System: Nintendo DS
Genre: Action / Platformer
Players: 1-2
Developer: EA
Publisher:
EA
Release Dates:
United States: November 15th, 2005

Introduction:

When I heard that NFS:MW was also going to be on the DS, I was very excited.  I loved NFSU2 for Playstation and GC, and NFSU2 was pretty good for the DS,  although it need some fixes.  I figured NFSMW would have those fixes.....I was wrong.

Story:

Story? There is supposed to be a story about you rising to the top of the blacklist and becoming the most notorious racer.  But the story must of got lost in development or something, because it seems like there is nothing going on but a gaggle of races (even though there are blacklist racers, its almost like there nothing).

Gameplay:

Well, I guess the racing is pretty fun once you take about 10 hours to learn the horrible controls.  Seriously, it can be fun after a long time, if you don't get frustrated and throw your DS at the wall.  There are different modes you can play, career or just an arcade mode.  The arcade mode is ok, since it is a racing game, and that's all you do is have races. The career mode is basically the same thing.  You complete 3-6 races and then challenge a blacklist racer. The blacklist racers, however, seem to be the worst racers on the track.  And there are supposed to be cops to....but they almost NEVER appear, and if they do all they do is put down a spike strip that is easily avoidable. The gameplay here isn't that great.

I give the gameplay: 6/10

Graphics:

UGH! the graphics are a disappointment.  They aren't like the ones for Underground 2, they look very boxy and pixley.  They make everything hard to make out, they are not good at all.

I give the graphics: 5/10

Sound:

CLANK! BEEP! annoying!  the sound is bad.  There is one track where you race under an L train for a bit, and all you hear is a high pitch squeak that will make your dog go nuts.

I give the sound: 5/10

Replayability:

Considering I haven't finished the game yet (I get a bit bored with it) I cant seem to rate this, but considering how it is now, I don't think ill be playing it again too often.

I give the replayability: 5/10

Challenge:

Finally a category where I can give above a 6. Its not to easy, not to hard.... that's all I can say.

I give the challenge: 7.5/10

Frustration:

if I start writing about the frustration, I might get frustrated.

I give the frustration: 4/10

Value:

I know I made it sound terrible, but its an ok game.  You might not think it is worth 30+ dollars though.

I give the value: 6/10

Multiplayer:

This is glitchy. VERY GLITCHY. in fact, in a multiplayer race, you might be in first...and so is the other person....in fact I don't even think you are in the same race...

I give the multiplayer: 3/10

Overall:

You might think the game is fun at first, but when you compare it to other racers on the DS, this one isn't something you will love (unlike mario kart).

I give Need for Speed Most Wanted: 6/10

Conclusion:

If you want a bigger collection of games for your DS, and you feel like racing, its an ok game. don't try multiplayer though.
