Game Name: Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga
System: Gameboy Advance
Genre: RPG
Developer: AlphaDream
Publisher: Nintendo
Release Date: November 17th, 2003
Players: Up to 4 with included Mario Bros. Game

Introduction:

I think, in my opinion, That the Mario RPG's are very addictive. From the beginning of Mario, You would never think that he would be in an RPG, but in 1996, he appeared in one of the greatest Mario games ever created, Super Mario RPG, that was the name, not to creative, but the game was. The game was so appreciated that they made Paper Mario, for the Nintendo 64, now this game boggled my head a little, but when you played it, it was just so fun. And now, Mario comes in his first handheld RPG, and one of the best Mario games ever.

Story:

King Koopa Bowser, feels like kidnapping Peach, which in his case is no surprise! But when he arrives, someone is already there, and it is a witch, her name is Cakletta. But when she first arrived, the Toads just thought that she had come to give a gift, but when Cakletta open it, a green gas came out and onto Peach. Later on, Toad runs to Mario and they arrive at the castle, only finding out that Peaches voice has just been stolen, and that the kidnapper has escaped, so now Mario can't do this alone, so Luigi comes along, on a saga that is truly amazing. But why did Cakletta steal her voice?

Gameplay:

Well, this is an RPG, but as well as that, there is also an action/adventure spice as well. And once you pick it up, you just can't put it down. There are many worlds and levels that are new to the Mario universe, and some of them you just want to explore in. You will conquer many enemies, some that are new and some that are not, plus very challenging puzzles where you really have to think and think hard. You will see many new friends which if you talk to them, you will get rewards. The game play is very unique because it blends all sort of genres into one great game!

I give the gameplay: 9.0/10

Graphics:

When you think of a gameboy game that won't be a side scroller, you usually think that it will have bad graphics, but Nintendo did an amazing job with the graphics. I just love looking at the amazing scenery and how it looks just as good as the main game. Every little thing in the game has great and unique designs, which you don't see in too many Game Boy games.

I give the graphics: 8.8/10

Sound:

The sound in this game, is just amazing. You just turn the volume up because of all the great music that Nintendo has added. There has never been such good sound in a Mario Gameboy game in my opinion. And the sound effects are very good as well, on the account that whatever you do there will most likely be a nice sound effect. But the music is the most amazing part about the sound. It is very nice.

I give the sound: 9.0/10

Replayability:

If you play through it once and beat it, no matter what, the second time through will be much better, you will find more items, more techniques and so much that you won't believe how you didn't have it the first time through. It has great replayability, and with the included Mario Bros, well lets just say that you could play that over and over again

I give the replayability: 9.0/10

Challenge:

The game is very challenging. The bosses have such unique powers, that you have to take note on what you will have to do to defeat, dodge, and counter attack it. And the puzzles that you must defeat may get very tricky indeed. Plus you may never finish some of the mini games that are with it. Sometimes when a game is challenging, you just quit the game completely, but with this game, you just want to keep on going to see what happens in the great story

I give the challenge: 8.5/10

Value:

The value of Mario and Luigi is very good. I can play it over and over, and so far, I have played it so many times that I have had to delete some of the saved games on the account it was taking to much space up

I give the value: 9.0/10

Overall:

Overall, this is a very great game, it is very different at first, but later on you just wish that there where 10 other games like this. Like I said at the beginning this is a great RPG, but it is also a great adventure and puzzle game as well, and plus you get to see all your favorite characters like Yoshi and Peach, plus meat about 100 new ones, overall, I would have to say this is a very great game.

I give Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga: 9.1/10

Conclusion:

If your an RPG fan, or a Mario fan, you will love this game. You will play it over and over again until the sequel comes out( which is true, its coming out for DS ) It will soon be a classic that I will treasure for a long time.
