Game Name:
Mega Man Zero 3
System: Game Boy Advance
Genre: Action
Developer/Publisher: Capcom
Release Date:
Japan: April 23rd, 2004
United States: October 4th, 2004 |
Introduction:
Another Megaman Zero game and like always, it only took Capcom a
few months. Ever since Megaman X6 came out I started to wander what
made everyone excited about another Megaman game. They've all gotten
so repetitive it's scary. There still good all the same, but you might
want to try another series after a while.
Story:
It has been two months since the incident with Elpizo and the
escape of the Dark Elf. Ciel has finished her research, but a new
supply of energy has not yet brought peace. Some sort of ship has
crashed from space, bringing with it a terrifying Reploid known as
Omega...as well as triggering the appearance of Dr. Weil and a new
X...
Gameplay:
The gameplay is pretty good at times, but you'll be having to much
of a hard time to ever notice.
I give the gameplay: 7/10
Graphics:
For the GBA the graphics are pretty nice. There can be some weird
sprites at times but other then that it's pretty neat.
I give the graphics: 8/10
Sound:
Pretty much what I've come to expect. I still say they should use
more stereo...
I give the sound: 8/10
Replayability:
In essence, there are two ways to play through the
game a second time: using the clear game save, or starting a new hard
mode game. Probably, in order to find everything, you'll end up having
to do both.
I give the replayability: 7/10
Challenge:
Like the previous game, this title has extra lives and infinite
continues, although the continues are pointless. The difficulty seems
about the same as the previous game. The main difference here is, even
without using fusion elves, you can lessen the difficulty using items,
equipment, satellite elves, and the cyberspace areas. However, that
assumes you can beat a stage first.
I give the challenge: 10/10
Value:
Pretty low. You'll find it pretty much anywhere for 30 dollars, but
it's not worth it.
I give the value: 2/10
Overall:
I'm finding this one really hard to rate, because while it has
improvements, it also contains a lot of carry-overs of annoying
features from the previous two games. But I suppose that is to be
somewhat expected in a sequel. It's a fun game, more enjoyable in a
lot of ways than the first two, I think, which is a good thing.
I give Mega Man Zero 3: 8/10
Conclusion:
It seems like Capcom forgot what a robot even is. While this game
is pretty good at parts, it's basically the same as Megaman Zero 1 and
2.
