Australia: October 3rd, 2004

Introduction:

This goes to the action/thriller-genre. A game that introduces psionic skills. Attacking, manipulating etc with the power of mind. And a massive plot, with quite a few twists and turns. And really bad controls and gameplay. The game follows the same kind of playing style as we've seen in Metal Gear Solid.

Story:

You wake up in some sort of institution, want to escape and find out you have these pretty nice psychic/psionic skills. Moving things, throwing a flying ball, making yourself invisible, etc. all by the power of will. But how is this possible, and what the heck happened...the story is quite interesting. Your mission is to escape from the institution, trying to figure out why you ended up there to begin with. There's some playable "flashback" stuff too.

Gameplay:

Now, in my opinion, the controls really suck. The movement is OK rarely, most of the time feels kinda sticky. The camera/angle is VERY bad most of the time. Feels like it's never right and I found myself wanting to fix the angle in EVERY situation! Makes it hard to attack enemies and/or sneak around. And sneaking around is really crucial in this game, the enemies are quite hard, if you get spotted. The psionic skills are quite cool of an aspect.

I give the gameplay: 3/10

Graphics:

The graphics are OK. Lacks in detail almost always. The environment is pretty haunting, and most of the time the pretty plain graphics serve the overall atmosphere.

I give the graphics: 7.5/10

Sound:

The sound may be the best part of this game. The voice acting is good. The music isn't anything special, but it serves the atmosphere, so it's fine. All in all, the sounds give this game a lot of it's good side, and adds to the atmosphere very much.

I give the sound: 8.5/10

Replayability:

Nothing special. Once you've beaten it, you know the plot and that's it. A fellow who wants the game to play well in my hands, I really don't wanna go back, because the gameplay is bad, bad, bad.

I give the replayability: 5/10

Challenge:

I found this game hard. You can choose between two difficulty settings, I went with the easier, and it wasn't easy. Most part for the horrible gameplay, though.

I give the challenge: 7/10

Overall:

A great plot, good atmosphere and the good sounds unfortunately don't make up for the AWFUL gameplay, which at least killed my playing desire for this game. Frustration level is up in the sky with this one.

I give Second Sight: 4/10

Conclusion:

If you are a fan of the gaming style of Metal Gear Solid and a good plot, I suggest you give this game a try. BUT I STRONGLY recommend you rent or borrow it first!! See if you can bear the horrible gameplay. If you can, then you got yourself a decent game.
