Introduction:
Many of you are wondering when another cool fighting game will come
out. Well, maybe you should stick with the game I'm reviewing. The
all-time classic, Super Smash Bros. Melee. Personally it's a
breathtaking experience, but very addictive. I enjoyed it. I hope
you'll enjoy it after this review.
Story:
It all started in early 1999 when the original Super Smash Bros.
was created for the N64. After that was done they had nothing to do
but to work on the newest thing at the time, Gamecube. Then one of the
creators had the idea of putting Super Smash Bros. onto the Gamecube.
Of course it took a long to make it but they finally did it. The game
was released in 2001, a couple of months after the introduction of the
Gamecube. Many gamers rushed to stores and malls all across America to
get this unique game. Who wouldn't?
Gameplay:
The gameplay on this was astounding. They even had a single button
melee for beginners. For advanced players such as myself the combos
worked well together. Out of 10 I give the gameplay a 7.8. There are
but some minor tweaks involving button mashing and flicking your
control stick.
I give the gameplay: 7.8/10
Graphics:
This version's graphics were enhanced so much you could see the
stitches in Mario's overalls. Most of the graphics flow smoothly. I
give it an 8.4 out of 10 because parts of the character's body go
through another if they get too close, and it frustrates me.
I give the graphics: 8.4/10
Sound:
The sound was incredible. Very detailed on Link's sword clashing.
And the music was phenomenal. They've even included a music menu when
you beat most of the game. Also hidden in the game are the original
songs and worlds from the Original Super Smash Bros.; including Kongo
Jungle and Yoshi's Island. I'll give the sound an 8.5 out of 10.
I give the sound: 8.5/10
Replayability:
Just like the original SSB you can play as many times
as you want. It's just as fun playing over and over again. And it's
great practice too. Out of 10 I give it a 9.
I give the replayability: 9/10
Challenge:
The challenge in this game is quite annoying for a lot of gamers.
If you put it on normal many say it's too hard. But also makes for
great training on your combos and dodges. I'll give the game's
challenge an 8.6 out of 10.
I give the challenge: 8.6/10
Frustration
The frustration in this game has a wide variety. From slightly
annoying to "God dammit! I can't beat this game!!!" frustration types.
Not many players are that frustrated with the game, so I'll give it a
4.7 out of ten.
I give the frustration: 4.7/10
Overall:
Overall, this game is one to definitely remember. Great fighting
style, nice graphics, and more characters. A huge amount of levels as
well as excellent combos. I' give this game a 9.7 out of 10. I would
have gave it a perfect but the graphics needed more work.
I give Super Smash Bros. Melee:
9.7/10
Conclusion:
In conclusion, this game has changed the face of most Nintendo
characters. I would like to see more of these games in the near
future, and I hope you would like to see another Super Smash Bros.
soon, right? Please, Nintendo, make another! Hope you liked my review
on Super Smash Bros. Melee.
