  Game Name:
Banjo-Tooie
System:
N64
Genre:
Action / Platformer
Players:
1
Developer:
Rare
Publisher:
Nintendo
Release Date:
United States: November 19th, 2000
Japan: November 27th, 2000
Europe: April 12th, 2001

Introduction:

Tanooki Mario is back! This time, telling you about the game that will drive you nuts in fun, and frustration; Banjo-Tooie. A game that only recently have I completed 100%. But, lemme tell you: It's worth it. Once you've done it, you feel SO proud. Ok, I'll stop. No, wait! I have to write the rest.

Story:

2 years have gone by since Grunty was defeated. But now her 2 sisters come to get the rock off her and revive her. But now, he's all bones. That makes her want a new body just like in Banjo-Kazooie. only this time, she uses B.O.B to suck life out of the Jingaling, the Jinjo king in Jinjo Village. It's up to Banjo and Kazooie to get King Sing-a Long's live back and beat the Witch once and for all! But, really, it's about 10X harder. Really.

Gameplay:

Gameplay is much like Banjo-Kazooie. Grabbing jiggy's and notes and Jinjos. Except it's re-arranged. You give Jiggy's to the Jiggy Wiggy God and if you have enough jiggy's, he'll open another world. The notes are completely different. You give them to JamJars, Bottles brother. JJ will  teach you new moves like Split up, Edge Grabbing, and many, many more. You can find him just like you found bottles in BK but instead of having molehills, JJ has, well, METAL molehills because he's in the army. Also, collecting Jonjo's are different too. Rather than getting 5 in each world to get a Jiggy like in BK, you must collect all of one COLOR in the GAME. Examples: If you get the While Jinjo you get a Jiggy because he's the only one in his family. But get a black Jinjo and you've got 11 more to go because they have such a large household. The locations of Jonjo's are the same everytime, but their color is random unlike BK.T here are also minjo's, Jonjo's rivals that look just like Jinjo's, but when you go near them, they attack you! If you want to know the basic controls and gameplay, look at the Banjo-Kazooie review on Nintendocity.com I'm only telling the differences between the 2 games, BK and BT in this review.

I give the gameplay: 9/10

Graphics:

Exactly the same as Banjo-Kazooie. In other words, a little better than Super Mario 64 and about the same as Donkey Kong 64.

I give the graphics: 8/10

Sound:

This game doesn't really show off sound because it has cartoon like SFX. But it fits the game perfectly.

I give the sound: 7/10

Replayability:

Ok. Once you've beaten Banjo-Tooie, you're probably not going to beat it again because it took so long to get all jiggies, notes, jinjos, etc. But if you play it again for the fun, your definitely playing for the right reason and you'll enjoy it better!

I give the replayability: 8/10

Challenge:

Ha! This game is the hardest N64 game you'll ever play! Period!

I give the challenge: 1000/10

Value:

This game is worth a solid $10-15 wherever you go. Which is underpriced for a game like Banjo Tooie. Great Value for a game so good!

I give the value: 10/10

Overall:

Banjo-Tooie will take time to beat, but it's worth it all. Great Graphics, gameplay, and frustration! A game that you won't stop playing until you've beaten it because it's so addictive!

I give Banjo-Tooie: 9/10

Conclusion:

Get this game now. Period. Why? Because I said so.
