Introduction:
Hello, time to review MARIO BROS for the NES! Hurray! Why can
people write a review for this game!
Story:
Well there isn't much of a story. There are about 35 phases I think
and you go through the all of the phases to win.
Gameplay:
The gameplay is jumping and knocking over enemies from the bottom
of the block they're on. Some enemies like Side Steppers (crabs) had
to be knocked over twice before killing them. There are about 35
phases.
There are also POW blocks. Hitting them will make all of the enemies
on the
screen knock over. Hitting it again to make the enemies go back up and
start walking again.
The enemies are Side Steppers (crabs), Fighter Flies, Freezies, and
Shellcreepers. Freezie was also known as Slipice in the Arcade version
of Mario Bros.
Mario Bros. has good game play. I like it.
I give the gameplay: 8/10
Graphics:
The graphics are a little good. The background is black like
always, Mario has his standard clothes, Shellcreepers look like Koopa
Troopas, and much more. Well the graphics needs a little improvement.
I give the graphics: 6/10
Sound:
The sound is good. They could of added background music. It feels
like an Atari 2600 game. No music. Just sounds. The sound effects are
good.
Like jumping and hitting the POW block. The only music in the game are
in the title, and the beginning of a stage. Needs a little
improvement.
I give the sound: 5/10
Replayability:
You can beat up crabs and turtles all day long if you want.
I give the replayability: 9/10
Challenge:
It's not that of a challenge. Only jumping and dieing.
I give the challenge: 5/10
Frustration:
You really get upset at jumping. Like when you want to go another
direction while in the air, and you don't jump that far and you land
on an enemy. This game really gets you mad.
I give the frustration: 8/10
Value:
This game should cost like $5.00 today. Like in the Virtual Console
on the Wii.
I give the value: 5/10
Fun:
This game is still fun to play.
I give the fun: 10/10!!
Overall:
This game is fun, challenging, and frustrating. So...
I give Mario Bros.: 8/10
Conclusion:
I took off 2 of the 10 because all of the frustrating moments in
the game.
If only they made jumping easier, this game will be 10/10 instead of
8/10.
Oh well. We can't go back to the past to tell Nintendo to made jumping
easier. Game Over for my review.
