  Game Name: Punch Out!
System: NES
Genre: Sports
Developer/Publisher: Nintendo
Release Date: 1987
Players: 1

Introduction:

Punch Out!!...a title anyone can enjoy.  It is definitely one of the greatest boxing games for the NES.  Punch Out!! is somewhat like the hit movie series Rocky, only a video game.  So, if you like the Rocky series I recommend you play this game.  There is also Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! which is identical to this.  The only difference is; this one includes the boss, Mr. Dream, while the other is of course, Mike Tyson.

Story:

You start out as Little Mac, a teenager with dreams of a champ.  Your trainer, Doc Louis, provides confidence and tips throughout your matches. Your goal is to become the most victorious boxer.

Gameplay:

You have to love the gameplay in this game.  Your goal is simply to "Punch Out" the other player.  Sometimes an opponent might shake his eyebrows or have his own signature move in which you are suppose to respond with. I will have to give the gameplay 10 out of 10 simply because it's just the kind of gameplay you could not refuse to play.

I give the gameplay: 10/10

Graphics:

The graphics in this game seem to have no flaws at all, aside from the color change in Little Macs pants when starting a round.  The crowd in the back is not the greatest crowd, but it's good for a Nintendo game.  The foot movement and thrown punches are a great experience to watch.

I give the graphics: 10/10

Sound:

The ringing bells. The catchy tunes.  Punch Out!! has it all.  The second you pop this game in your Nintendo Entertainment System, you will hum to the music.  It does somewhat get repetitive hearing the same music over.

I give the sound: 9/10

Replayability:

Replayability.  Ah yes.  The greatest feature of this game.  You could pick this game up and play for days.  Strategizing is the key to winning.  It takes time, yet it is very fun.

I give the replayability: 10/10

Challenge:

Punch Out!! delivers a fine challenge for any gamer.  You start off with easy fights, but as you progress they become more difficult.  Especially Mr. Dream. Although the challenge does not become difficult until near the end, a few people might have trouble with the beginning.

I give the challenge: 6/10

Overall:

Overall, Punch Out!! is the kind of game you could play for weeks.  It has everything any Nintendo player could want.  If you don't like boxing, you will still like this game.

I give Punch Out!: 9.7/10
