Introduction:

Super Mario Bros. 3 is the #1 Selling Video Game of all time. Is this because of the huge build up it got before its release? Is it because it was the last of the Super Mario Bros. games for the NES? The answer is NO! This game is one of the best video game ever made. This is my opinion of course. I first played this game when I was 3 and have never stop playing it. I will still put this game in my NES and play a World or two. With its incredible game play, actually incredible is an understatement, this game is perfect. The game play, the graphics, the sound, everything is just so perfect. Needless to say, I love this game, it is my favourite video game of all time. It is so good it was shown a few months before its release in the movie "The Wizard". This game has been re-released on the Super Nintendo and on the Gameboy Advance. That is amazing, to be re-released more than a decade after being originally released, and than still selling well. Super Mario Bros. 3 is THE GAME!

Story:

The Story is, Bowsers Kids have caused mayhem throughout the mushroom kingdom. They have turned the kings into animals. It is up to Mario to change them back.

Gameplay:

The game play in this game is like a highly improved version of the original Super Mario Bros. You have to run and jump and avoid enemies. You have to time your jumps perfectly. You have the classic Mario Items, like The mushroom, flower and star; but this game has a lot of new items. You can fly now. You can have a frog suit and swim immensely better than without it. You can wear a Hammer Bros. suit and throw hammers (See how The Hammer Bros. they like it). You can wear a Tanooki Suit and fly, as well as turn into stone to avoid enemies. A greatly improved feature is that you can pick up Koopa Troopa shells. There are 8 Worlds like in the original Super Mario Bros.; but there are more than 4 stages in each world. Another great thing is that you select your stage by moving Mario around a map. This is sort of re-done on Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo. Each world has mushroom boxes, you can get items from these mushroom boxes. Then you can actually store your items, for later use. The first 7 Worlds have a koopa kid you must defeat. There are Goombas, and koopas, paratroopas, piranha plants and a whole lot of new enemies. The worlds each have there own unique style. There is a Grass Land, a Desert Land, a Water Land, a Big Land, a Sky Land, a Ice Land, a Pipe Land and of course the last world Dark Land. The game play is extremely fun. I have played it for over 10 years and still have fun playing this game. Get through each side scrolling stage. Avoid all the enemies!

I give the gameplay: 10/10!!!

Graphics:

The Graphics are extraordinary. They have vastly improved upon the previous Super Mario Games. Mario and Luigi looks very well done. The enemies are incredible looking as well. The background is great, it has a lot more detail than the previous Super Mario games. The actual environments graphics are superb. They look nicely done.

I give the graphics: 10/10!!!

Sound:

Gotta love that Mario beat. I love the sound in this game. its extraordinary. The background music is so perfect. It is the best NES music I have ever heard. I like it a lot more then the other Mario Games. It really has nice beat and is so perfect for the world and level that you are on. The action sound in this game is great too. The classic Super Mario Jumps sound and the shooting fireball sound.

I give the sound: 10/10!!!

Replayability:

This game has great replayability. I myself have played it dozens of times since its release over a decade ago, and I am still playing it. That must show that this game has great replayability. You can replay this game without doing every world. When I replay it I usually play a World or two. I will start it up and take the warp zone to World 3 or 7 or whatever I feel like. I have memorized every stage in my head. This is because I play it so much and I still love to play it.

I give the replayability: 10/10!!!

Challenge:

OK, the challenge is sort of hard for me to have an unbiased decision. The game to me now is very easy, but this is probably because I have played this game so many times. I have memorized every stage, so that is probably why it isn't a big challenge for me though. When I first started to play this game it was hard. So I will have to try and remember how hard it was when I first started to play. It was pretty hard; but this could be of the fact I was 3. I think this game is challenging the first few times you play it. But of course if you play it like 100 times it will become very easy.

I give the challenge: 7.5/10

Value:

This game has to have the best value out of any NES game made. I don't care if it's 5 bucks or 30 bucks. If you have a NES that you like to play, and you don't have Super Mario Bros. 3 than GET IT! Everyone I have ever known who has a NES has this game. It's Super Mario Bros. 3. It's the #1 selling video game of all time.

Overall:

Overall this game has got it all. It has perfect gameplay, graphics, sound and replayability. This game is a must have for anyone who enjoys playing the NES and has a NES (of course). This is one of my favourite video games of all time. I have played it for over a decade and I know I will continue to do so until the day that I die.

I give Super Mario Bros. 3 : 11/10!!!!!

You might be thinking, a 11 out of 10??? That makes no sense. Well, I have decided to give this game a 11 out of ten because it is THE BEST NES game. I don't know right now, but maybe another NES game will get a 10 out of 10. That game will deserve it, but it can't be as good as Super Mario Bros. 3

Conclusion:

Super Mario Bros. 3 is the #1 selling video game of all time, and for good reason, it's AWESOME. It has the best of everything. This game has been loved and played by many people. It has been re-released twice. I wouldn't be surprised if it was re-released in 10 years. I have very fond memories of playing this game when I was 3 and 4. Sitting in front of an old black and white TV and playing it for hours. (Of course there were colour TV's, but I had an old little black and white TV.) This game is a True Nintendo legend. Nintendo can look back at this game and be very, very proud. This game broke the mould. We might have thought that it was going to be a great game, but I don't think any of us would imagine how great it turned out.
