Game Name:
Donkey Kong
System:
Atari 2600
Genre:
2D Platformer
Developer:
Nintendo
Publisher:
Coleco
Release Date:
United States: 1992 |
Introduction:
Well, I'm gonna a review a very old game from the Atari 2600.
Donkey Kong.
Story:
The story is very simple. Donkey Kong kidnapped Mario's girlfriend
Pauline.
He must save her from DK.
Gameplay:
The whole game is very short. There are only two levels. One, the
classic tilted hallway level with broken ladders and two, the level
that you walk
over these blocks and they vanish. Run over all of them to win and
then you go back to level 1. This game is very short.
They could of made it better. Like adding an extra level. There are
two levels. What kind of game that only has two levels! I can't say
much about the gameplay. The gameplay is the same as the arcade. There
is not much to tell about this game. Go play this game in the arcade
instead of your Atari.
I give the gameplay: 4/10
Graphics:
The graphics are simple. DK doesn't look anything like himself.
Mario doesn't
have overalls. Pauline has an all yellow face. The barrels look like
orange circles with black dots on it. But it's the Atari. The Atari is
very old so I should go easy on it.
I give the graphics: 4/10
Sound:
The game has dull sound. Like when you win a level. The sound
isn't that good. But it's the Atari 2600! The sound is not good. So I
should go easy on it again.
I give the sound: 3/10
Replayability:
You can play this game over and over again. Getting your score up
without dying.
I give the replayability: 4/10
Challenge:
This game is not that of a challenge. It's a simple game.
I give the challenge: 2/10|
Frustration:
When you die and loose the game and your best score isn't made.
Oh well. BAM!
I give the frustration: 4/10
Value:
This game is simple. It shouldn't cost much at all. You could buy
this game
like for $00.50 today. It's an Atari game.
I give the value: 3/10
Overall:
This game is a simple, short game for Atari. They could of made it
better.
Oh well.
I give Donkey Kong for the Atari
2600: 4/10
Conclusion:
If you have a NES and an Atari, You should rather buy Donkey Kong
for the NES.
It has better gameplay and graphics. Or if you have money and there is
a Donkey Kong arcade machine in your local arcade. Spend your money on
playing that game in the arcade.
