  Game Name:
Bebe's Kids
System:
SNES
Genre:
Action
Players:
1
Developer:
Motown Games
Publisher:
Mandigo

Introduction:

Welcome to what is widely considered to be the worst SNES game ever made.

Story:

If you have seen the movie this game was based on, you know that the story is racist. Some African-American children are related to the devil and are sent to a carnival where they commit horrible acts and terrorize innocent white folks.

Gameplay:

You get to choose between two black kids who have to beat up people dressed in animal costumes and secret service agents working at an amusement park.  The girl tends to be faster and the boy is harder to hit.  The game is a side-scrolling street fighter where you battle a specified number of enemies until the screen allows you to progress forward. After each level there is a small cutscene with some useless dialogue.  You have a few special moves besides standard punches, such as uppercuts.  You can also throw items.

I give the gameplay: 2/10

Graphics:

The graphics are decent but the backgrounds needed serious work. Shorter levels, more time, and a wider variety of enemies would have helped. This aspect may be the redeeming feature of this game.

I give the graphics: 3/10

Sound:

Turn off the repetitive annoying carnival music and haunted sounds before you go insane and kill your siblings.  Not even Jake would listen to this trash.  They would have done a better job if they did not put any sounds in the game.

I give the sound: 1/10

Replayability:

There is no playability to this game so how can there possibly be a replayability factor.  You could replay this game to remind yourself how much money you wasted buying this awful excuse for a movie based game,

I give the replayability: 1/10

Challenge:

If you do not master the special moves this game will be very challenging.  You have a time limit that runs out quickly and numerous enemies in each stage that will slow you down.  During the later stages you have to run and avoid enemies as much as possible just to finish in time. Controls are not very obvious and take a great deal of experimentation to figure out how to perform special maneuvers.

I give the challenge: 10/10

Frustration:

This game was intensely frustrating. The controls do not accurately respond with the character on the screen and the enemies sit around waiting to be attacked.  The maze section will leave you crying for mercy as you become lost for hours.

I give the frustration: 10/10

Value:

There is no value to this game except to value how great every other game is compared to this one.

I give the value: 1/10

Overall:

Overall this game quite possibly is the worst game on the SNES system.  Many other people agree with me on this.

I give Bebe's Kids: 1/10

Conclusion:

If you see this game for sale for cheap, buy it immediately. After playing it you will love all of your other games and enjoy playing them. You will never think of calling any of your other games "bad" again.
