  Game Name:
The Lost Vikings
System:
SNES
Genre:
Action / Puzzle
Players:
1-2 Simultaneous
Developer:
Blizzard (was Silicon & Synapse, Inc.)
Publisher:
Interplay
Release Date:
United States: 1992
Japan: 1993

Introduction:

Hi, I'm Nintendude, I played this game a lot and I still like it.
This was one of my favorite games of all times.

Story:

In the game, the three Vikings get kidnapped by Tomator, an extraterrestrial emperor of the Croutonian empire, for an inter-galactic zoo and become lost in various periods of time. The purpose of the game is to control the three characters (who all have separate abilities) in order to solve puzzles to escape and get back home.

Gameplay:

You have three Vikings that have different powers, you have to go through puzzles and levels using those powers.
Erik with his power to be the only one to jump can jump over ledges and pits. Erik can also use his helmet to break walls.
Baleog can use his sword to slash enemies and push switches.
he also has a bow which can allow him to hit enemies and switches from far away.
Olaf has a shield which can block attacks and traps, Olaf can also use his shield to glide past pits and danger. Last Olaf can use his shield to make a stepping stone for Erik so he can reach higher platforms.

I give the gameplay: 10/10

Graphics:

I like the graphics, the graphics match every world you have to play.
there's not much to say about the graphics.

I give the graphics: 8/10

Sound:

When you kill an enemy the enemy does a battle cry. Also whenever a Viking falls off a edge too far down they act confused and hurt.
I think the sound was good. The game had lots of sound that would never get annoying.

I give the sound: 9/10

Replayability:

The levels in the game are very long, so you might not remember what to do when you get to that part, when you replay the level the puzzles are the same and it's still really hard.

I give the replayability: 8/10

Challenge:

The game doesn't have a difficulty setting, so you have to complete the hard levels. The challenge can be very hard even on the first three levels.
you really have to think in this game to beat one level. Also when one Viking takes more than three hits, he dies and you can't finish the level.
that's the only thing I hate about this game.

I give the challenge: 8/10

Frustration:

With hard levels and worlds, this game has a lot of Frustration.
once one Viking dies from spikes, lava, water, or high cliffs, you have to start the whole level over again from the start.
you get very close to the end, but suddenly one Viking dies cause you didn't remember to turn off a trap, you start the level from the start.

I give the frustration: 9/10

Value:

The game is very old so it won't cost a lot of money.
Find it on Ebay and other stores.

I give the value: 10/10

Worlds:

The worlds are very creative.
from a cave to a desert, a spaceship to a jungle, this game has great worlds.

I give the worlds: 10/10

Overall:

This game is fun, I like this game and you will to if you like puzzle games.

I give The Lost Vikings: 9/10

Conclusion:

This is one of my favorite games to play cause I like puzzle games.
Lost Vikings is a great puzzle game for everyone.
