Introduction:

Hey-o. Sorry I was gone for awhile. What with homework and projects... and playing my Wii. Anyway, today I'm going to review Super Paper Mario, the third installment in the Paper Mario series. the story is mentioned below, so if you don't like reading, just play the damn game.

Story:

The following content contains spoilers.
!READER DISCRETION IS ADVISED!

This story revolves around the Light Prognosticus and Dark Prognosticus.

Princess Peach awakens in a wedding dress and finds herself on the alter, who is about to marry... Bowser. Count Bleck, the person who arranged the wedding gets Bowser to marry Peach in order to create the Chaos Heart, capable of destroying all worlds. Peach refuses, but with the help pf Nastasia, she is forced to say "I do," which allows the creation of the Chaos Heart. Before all worlds were destroyed, Luigi stops the process but is later sucked into the reality-bending Void.

Mario is informed by Toad that the princess has been kidnapped. He assumed it was Bowser again and heads for his castle. However, Bowser denies kidnapping Peach, when Count Bleck appears and sends everyone to the area between dimentions. Mario is later informed he must collect the eight pure hearts and stop Count Bleck before all worlds are destroyed. Along his adventure, he meets a bevy of helpful creatures called Pixls, of which one, Tippi, is the most important. After they reach Castle Bleck, the heroes - Mario, Peach, Bowser, and Luigi - find out that Bleck was a former prince of the Tribe of Darkness - Blumiere and his love - Timpani - is the current Tippi. After reuniting, one of Bleck's minions, Dimentio, steals the Chaos Heart, betraying Bleck and killing Nastasia. Mario defeats him and the Void disappears...

Gameplay:

This is one of the most unique Mario games, so far. Like the past Paper Mario games, they put heavy emphasis to the "paper" theme of the game. This being the most emphasized as of yet. When you're Mario, pressing the A Button will allow you to switch between 2-D and 3-D, revealing that some of the most difficult enimies are literally, paper-thin. It can also reveal that the untouchable background, such as a mountain, can become an accessible bridge. When you become a different character, like Peach, holding the 2 Button will utilize her parasol and will allow you to float down at a much slower pace, letting you travel a farther distance. For Bowser, pressing down on the Control Pad will let him breathe a ferocious flame.

I give the gameplay: 9.5/10

Graphics:

A comic paper-styled game allows for friendly presentation. The hilarious antics involving the characters and their simple physical outlook made this game quite a uniquity.

I give the graphics: 8.5/10

Sound:

Happy music and cheerful SFX is a sure-fire Mario hoot. Some of the later songs tend to set a dark and eerie tone, such as in the Underwhere... i know it's a funny name.

I give the sound: 9/10

Replayability:

I would totally play it again. The first time through, I had a blast, but going through it again will be even more fun, including finding all the recipes, catch cards, and secrets.

I give the replayability: 10/10

Challenge:

Without a doubt the easiest Paper Mario game I had the pleasure of playing. It was surprisingly short, but still fun throughout.

I give the challenge: 3/10

Frustration:

Absolutely easy. there was nothing too hard about this game... except for one. It gets kind of repetative during the last couple of floors in the Pit of 100 Trials, both in Flipside and Flopside.

I give the challenge: 1.5/10

Overall:

One of the best Mario games for the Wii. In fact one of the only Mario games for the Wii, as of this review. But anyone who would like to try something fresh yet wants a familiar classic feel, Super Paper Mario is the game for you

I give Super Paper Mario: 9.5/10

Conclusion:

Whew, another great review for another great game. Well, hopefully, my next review is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, or Mario Party 8, or Super Mario Galaxy, or Phantom Hourglass or...

Sorry, anyway... I guess you can check me out in the future. Until my next review, stay in the Nintenzone.
