Game
Name: Super Paper
Mario System: Wii Genre: RPG
Platformer Players: 1 Developer: Intelligent Systems
Publisher: Nintendo Release
Date: United States: April
9th, 2007 Japan: April 19th,
2007 |
Introduction:
Welcome to my 1st review. Let's get started!
Story:
An
evil Count named Count Bleck is planning to destroy all
worlds because he lost the love of his life. Mario is now on
an amazing adventure of flipping, boring talks, and recipes!
Along the way, he meets Tippi, a magical Pixl that helps
Mario on his way. Now he has to collect 9 Pure Hearts before
all worlds are destroyed! Also starring Peach, Bowser, and a
certain man in green!
Gameplay:
The gameplay is way different then the other 2 Paper
Mario's.
It has a retro-styled theme to it, but it has the same RPG
genre that we know and love. There are many Pixls that Mario
and friends meet along the way, each with a different (or
useless) ability. Pressing the A button makes Mario flip,
but be warned, he will take damage once his Flip Meter is
depleted. You can use Tippi's ability to look up enemies or
people or places by pointing the Wii Remote to the object
you want to know about. There are some new enemies too, some
impervious to every single attack! This has to be Mario's
most flipped-out adventure to date!
I give the gameplay:
9/10
Graphics:
A lot of 3-D detail in the game is gone. A lot of the
scenery looks 2-D even if you flip to 3-D. It still has cool
graphics though. It has unexpected surprises when you hit a
switch! It looks really weird if you switch to 3-D, and a
cardboard looking thing is coming toward you, and then in
2-D it's a Spike Ball! XD So yeah, the graphics are amazing.
I give the graphics:
7/10
Sound:
A lot of the classics have been remixed here. The sound
really gives a view of what the level is going to look like.
Take Lineland 1-1 for example. Sure, it's the remixed
version of Super Mario Bros., but it gives a meaning. It is
peaceful music and Lineland is a peaceful place. Nintendo
was really good with the sounds.
I give the sound:
9/10
Replayability:
I don't know about you, but I replayed 4 times already!I give the replayability:
7/10
Challenge:
Not as hard as the last 2 Paper Mario's, but it can get a
little annoying once in a while. They hid objects in this
game very well, even if you flip to 3-D, it's still hard to
find stuff.
I give the challenge:
7/10
Frustration:
Definitely. You have to have a strategy guide for this, I'm
serious. The last levels were especially confusing even though
you flip or use another helpful ability.I give the
frustration: 9/10
Value:
A lot today, it's such a great game!
I give the value: 7/10
Overall:
This is, to me, one of the greatest Paper Mario's yet. If
they made another one like this, I would definitely buy it.
Count on it.
I give Super Paper Mario:
Perfect 10
Conclusion:
This is Mr. Game and Watch (BTape) signing out! BEEP BEEP
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. :P
