Game Name:
Wii Sports
System:
Wii
Genre:
Sports
Players:
1-4
Developer:
Nintendo
Publisher:
Nintendo
Release Date:
United States: November 19th, 2006
Japan: December 2nd, 2006
Europe: December 8th, 2006

Introduction:

The Wii is probably the best console I have ever used. In fact this very review was done on the system itself, so the games should be great too. I never liked sports games until I played this game.

Story:

N/A Like almost all sport games (if not all) it has no story, so I can't speak of this.

Gameplay:

The gameplay of this game is what really made Wii sports great. It comes with five different sports (tennis, baseball, bowling, golf and boxing), a training mode with three different games for each sport (15 in all) and medals for your new achievements. Wii fitness, a random combination of training games that test your abilities once a day. The regular game has a point system for each sport that shows where you are, which psyches you to play more to increase your points. Overall the gameplay is excellent.

I give the gameplay: 10/10

Graphics:

Not exactly the highlight of the game but they are pretty good for a console's first game. While I was playing I noticed small details that made the game all the better, such as when you play bowling the lanes next to you are being utilized by NPCs.

I give the graphics: 7/10

Sound:

The sound really fits in to the game you are playing. When you are boxing it is exiting and when you are golfing it is calm.

I give the sound: 8/10

Replayability:

This game can be played over and over again, even when you have no sports skill (Like me). Once you get your first points, you want to get many more and become pro.

I give the replayability: 9/10

Challenge:

Challenge ultimately depends on the sport you are playing. You may be good at baseball but bad at golf. The game overall (besides getting all platinum in training which is difficult) is of average challenge.

I give the challenge: 8/10

Frustration:

The only truly frustrating thing about Wii Sports is platinum in training which I give a 10.

I give the challenge: 10/10

Value:

The game was free so I deem this unrateable.

Overall:

Overall I believe this was the best sport game ever invented.

I give Wii Sports: 9/10

Conclusion:

Well I can tell you that it was a great deal to get this free with the Wii console for $ 250.00.
