Memories/Experiences

When I was 3 years old my sister moved down to the basement, and I got her room. She had a little Black and White TV and a NES hooked up to it. When she moved down stairs she let me keep the TV and NES in my new room. So I started my life long love affair with Super Mario Bros.
She actually taught me how to play SMB and in the process the NES. She taught me the controls and some secrets of the game. At this point in my life I had no school, I just had hours everyday to do whatever I want. The only NES games we had were SMB/Duck Hunt, Tetris, and Pictionary. Well Pictionary isn't that fun to play 1 player, and Tetris didn't interest me much, so I spent hours playing Super Mario Bros.
It was on a small little black and white TV, but I didn't care. I sat right next to the TV and played for hours everyday. I soon beat the game, yet I kept playing. It was just so much fun. The odd time I was allowed to hook the NES up to the big Colour TV in the living room. I got to see Super Mario Bros. in Colour. Which was very odd, after playing it for about a year in black and white, and on a small scale.
My family soon got a Super Nintendo. A few months later we received Super Mario All-Stars. I started to play Super Mario Bros. on it. Although I still preferred to play it on the NES.
When I was 6 my family moved across the country. I tried to hook the NES up to the little black and white TV at the new house, but the NES really wasn't working well at the time, so my Mom packed up the NES. I then got interested in the SNES, and eventually I got into the N64. Although every once in awhile I would play Super Mario Bros. on the SNES. Well, years passed, I moved across the country again, and to a few other houses. I played many games, but every so often I would remember the days of playing the NES. Then one day when I was about 12, I found the NES out in garage after my family had just moved. I quickly grabbed it and brought it to my room. I hooked it up and saw that dreaded blinking screen. After sitting on the floor with the NES for about 3 hours it started up. It was amazing, to see the game I just remembered from when I was little. I sat there and played it for hours. That is also when my NES collecting started. Well now I have a few NES's, and a few copies of SMB, as well as it for the GBA.
So now I still sit down and play Super Mario Bros., even if its only for 10 minutes. I play it at least once a month, and I still have fun. I know there will be years more of enjoyment with me and Super Mario Bros.
